As we draw closer to Women’s day, the School of Women and Gender Studies in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden have organized a Gender Identity Week 2019 #GenderWeek19, from 4th – 8th March 2019. The week will be composed of online conversations/campaigns, blogs, electronic and print media engagements, dialogues and trainings.
A range of gender issues will be interrogated namely; masculinities, empowering cultural aspects of Ugandan/African gender relations, peer to peer gender alliance, University’s role in promoting gender equity, identities, gender and commoditization of the female body and Women representation in Wikipedia. The #GenderWeek19 composition feeds into the 2019 National Women’s Day theme “Empowering Women though Innovative Approaches to Social Protection: A pre-requisite for Inclusive and Sustainable Development.
