Peace Musiimenta is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Gender and WomenStudies-MakerereUniversity and a specialist in Gender and Social Vulnerability Analysis. Peace has Ph.D (Gender Studies), MA (Women’s studies) and BA(Education – 2nd class honours – Upper Division) all of Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda; Advanced Gender Research Methodology ( MUK); Strategic Leadership Dynamics for individuals and organizations(Gender Mainstreaming Division- Carnegie Corporation of New York); Research Methods and Writing skills(CBR); Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation Course(Makerere University Research Institute Kabanyolo- MUARIK); Gender and Project Planning, Management and Evaluation skills(School of Women and Gender Studies-Makerere University) and Participatory Action Oriented Research for Poverty Eradication (Network of Uganda Researchers and Research Users -NURRU), and creative Parenting skills.
Peace has over ten years experience as senior researcher in areas of gender, socio-economic issues, women’s health, Women’s empowerment and education. Over the years, Peace has conducted capacity building, paper presentations and researches on socio-economic areas with a focus on girls and women’s rights and empowerment initiatives. Peace is a Trainer of trainers of Gender, Economic Policy and Management Initiatives (GEPMI) (UN Women).
